Calling on all internationals, and international friends in Oslo! We welcome you to a screening of There’s Something in The Barn with English subtitles at Ringen Kino. 🤩

Christmas came early this year, with the newly released Norwegian horror-comedy, starring Martin Starr (SILICON VALLEY). This nightmarish and hilarious tale about an American family’s desire to fit in spirals into a survival saga laced with smart cultural jabs. The clash between American and Norwegian culture sets the stage for some truly funny moments.

If the allure of Norway and its mystical elves, coupled with a nostalgia for the playful horror of the 1980s piques your interest, then don’t miss this film!

Synopsis:

After inheriting his uncle’s estate in Norway, Bill and his family move into their new home, with the dream of turning the property into a bed and breakfast. But when mysterious incidents occur, they soon realize that they are not the only ones living on the farm. In the shadow lurks a creature, thought to only exist in Norwegian folklore. The barn elf.

There are rules to keep the barn elf happy. And if you ignore them, the small and seemingly sweet elf will unleash hell upon you. The rules are simple; no bright lights, no loud noises and above all else, do not forget to feed him (Julegrøt) on Christmas eve!

This film contains strong language and violence.
