Fierce with a pen and notorious in combat, Cyrano almost has it all - if only he could win the heart of his true love Roxane. There’s just one big problem: he has a nose as huge as his heart. Edmond Rostand’s masterwork is adapted by Martin Crimp and directed by Jamie Lloyd (Betrayal). This classic play will be brought to life with linguistic ingenuity to celebrate Cyrano’s powerful and resonant resistance against overwhelming odds.

Cyrano de Bergerac is a well known classic play set in 1640 France and written by Edmond Rostand in rhyming verse.

This brand new version of the play is written by Martin Crimp When We Have Sufficiently Tortured Each Other) and, while it is still set in 1640’s France, this version uses contemporary language and dress. So… fake noses are out, as are frills, fans and other 17th century fripperies!

It is love story about a man Cyrano, who seems to have it all intelligence, wit, physical prowess and a big heart, but has a nose big enough to prevent him from winning the hand of his true love Roxanne.
